We are spoilt for choice with good restaurants in Torquay but it’s always worth booking ahead in the busy season to ensure that you get your preferred choices. It is also worth noting that many restaurants in Torquay stop serving at around 9pm
Here are some of our personal favourites…
Within 10-minute walk from The Berburry
Mr Cook Steak and Grill house – varied menu including steaks and other grilled meats, fish, curry etc (less than 5 minutes-walk)
01803 209090
Chelston Manor – excellent pub food in a pub that generally caters more for local residents than tourists – a definite favourite of ours as the food is great and they have a fantastic beer garden with live music events (10 min walk up a little hill)

Indy Yang – Asian food with Indian and Thai influences. Very tasty and beautifully presented.

Approx 15-minute walk
Vista lounge – casual, bar type food but lots of choice and in a lively setting. Good choice of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Bookings only necessary for groups of 6 or more.

Torquay Harbour area
The main harbour area is about 20 mins walk (and its pretty flat) or 5 minutes in a taxi. There are lots of choices there. Here are a few recommendations but we would recommend booking in advance where possible:
Ottos – fantastic pizzas in an elevated position with great views across the harbour and a fantastic terrace to enjoy a drink in the sun. Otto do not take advance bookings so just turn up, but they do stop serving food by 9pm

Ephesus – delicious greek/turkish food in a prominent position by the harbour
01803 294466
Amici - Family-owned Italian with an extensive menu and a lively atmosphere. Outdoor dining available in the summer time

Biancos – Also Italian but with a more intimate, bistro-style atmosphere and menu.

Jun Jaow – Family-run Thai restaurant with an extensive menu including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options

Hole in the Wall – traditional pub food (lots of character as it's the oldest pub in Torquay and has live music most evenings)
01803 200755
Harbour16 – great steaks and grilled meats and do a great Sunday Roast. We recommend sharing some of the tasty nibbles as a starter!

Below Decks - steaks/burgers etc in a lovely setting right on the harbour side. A great venue for lunch (try the seafood platter!) Regularly have live music
01803 411106
No7 Fish Bistro – specialises in fish and seafood with a great specials board. A bit more upmarket if you want something a little more special and a lovely wine bar on the first floor. Recommend booking in advance.

The Elephant – Relaxed and friendly Michelin star restaurant. Run by chef Simon Hulstone, The Elephant has maintained its Michelin star status since 2006. Fantastic for a treat or a special occasion.
